ἄσκησις

Askesis

Skill in judgment, forged on real data.

One moment…

The name

Askesis (ἄσκησις) is Greek for practice or training. The verb askein originally meant working raw material into form: a smith forging metal, a carpenter shaping wood. The word came to describe the discipline of athletes and, later, the philosophical exercises by which Stoics such as Epictetus trained their judgment.

In trading, the raw material is our own perception and reactions.

Askesis is a workshop for sharpening your raw potential. Through deliberate practice with real market data, we learn to see more clearly, to discern the real from the false, and to make better decisions under uncertainty.

You can study history; you can study principles. You can understand them intellectually. But understanding is not skill.

You get skill from training.

Welcome to the workshop.
